It was a celebratory day in Shenzhen on November 21, 2016. The China EU Future City held its first annual Medical Cluster Conference and held a ceremony on launching the CEFC Senior Care Facility.
Both events held in the morning were joined by a delegation of German government officials from the Mayor of Erlangen City, Dr. Florian Javik, who presented at the conference and was in Shenzhen to promote greater ties between the two cities. The Mayor was also joined by Matthias Hegel, a Managing Director from the Medical Valley Center and Dr. Friedrich von Tucher, partner with Euro Sino Invest – Technology Expansion Partners.
As China’s population begins to age more rapidly, elderly care and living are going to become a higher priority in Chinese society. In this spirit, the conference saw presentations on the role European Medical Clusters and Dual Education will play in the CEFC Senior Care Facility and the impact it will have on China – Europe cooperation in these areas. The Senior Care Facility will have a vocational training campus nearby, thereby creating new opportunities for students to learn on the job on best practices and training to assist in caring for elderly Chinese.
